Our needs will never exhaust God’s supply.

Those who work their land will have abundant food. Proverbs 12:11
Outside my office window, the squirrels are in a race against winter to bury their acorns in a safe, accessible place. Their commotion amuses me. An entire herd of deer can go through our back yard and not make a sound, but one squirrel sounds like an invasion.
The two creatures are different in another way as well. Deer do not prepare for winter. When the snow comes they eat whatever they can find along the way (including ornamental shrubs in our yard). But squirrels would starve if they followed that example. They would be unable to find suitable food.

The deer and the squirrel represent ways that God cares for us. He enables us to work and save for the future, and He meets our need when resources are scarce. As the wisdom literature teaches, God gives us seasons of plenty so that we can prepare for seasons of need (Prov. 12:11). And as Psalm 23 says, the Lord leads us through perilous places to pleasant pastures.
Another way that God provides is by instructing those with plenty to share with those in need (Deut. 24:19). So when it comes to provision, the message of the Bible is this: Work while we can, save what we can, share what we can, and trust God to meet our needs.

One of God's Girls

September 2017, I had 2 cat scans of my entire body-the first showed multi problems, so a second was done, using the dye ( which is risky ), that the problems were more visible to the medical team I have.

Yes, I have a medical team ; bionic heart, which needs Coumadin to work, strychnine, rat poison.. blood clots in both legs, osteo-necrotic bones (they are not getting blood, so are dying) :

My left eye has a catatact, blinding me, my right ear is deaf, my skin has Melanoma, skin cancer: I have had polyps removed 3 times in my lower G.I., and upper G.I. is also not healthy. Melanoma is inside my nose, now, a leaion has formed.

There's more...

I know where God Is in all this... He Is with me, His very Own Spirit fills me.

The Name Jesus has so much Power over me, that  the 2 times ,after dying then being  resuscitated , coming off  on life support, those who prayed over me were witness to my testimony. That is called Blessed beyond 'the curse' !

God Sees me a a precious pearl... He Sees that in everyone, if only they would believe in the Power of His Spirit, which Jesus Walked in, 24/7/365..

My hope is that others gain hope for themselves and so too, become happy.

Today

“WE MUST BE OPEN to letting God change us. Inner change is not just a do-it-yourself job. We all know what usually happens when we grit our teeth, clench our knuckles, and try to change ourselves through our own efforts. We come up short. While there might be some outward changes for a brief time, before long our true character shows itself again. We need some kind of power from outside ourselves. …
The wonderful news is that God actually wants to help us become better persons.”

Birthed in Prayer: Pregnancy as a Spiritual Journey

GOD LOOKS AT US with love, kindness, and great compassion at all times. Zephaniah 3:17 tells us that God takes great delight in us, calms and quiets us with divine love, and rejoices over us with singing. I wonder what song God is singing over me right now? What song is God singing over you? Scripture says that it is a song of rejoicing and delight. I wonder what effect it would have on us if we could hear, just once, the words of God’s song for us.

Your nature is a hard thing to change; it takes time…. I have heard of people who have life-changing, miraculous turnarounds, people set free from addiction after a single prayer, relationships saved where both parties ‘let go, and let God.’ But it was not like that for me. For all that ‘I was lost, I am found,’ it is probably more accurate to say, ‘I was really lost. I’m a little less so at the moment.’ And then a little less and a little less again. That to me is the spiritual life. The slow reworking and rebooting the computer at regular intervals, reading the small print of the service manual. It has slowly rebuilt me in a better image. It has taken years, though, and it is not over yet (U2 and Neil McCormick, U2 by U2 (New York: HarperCollins,  2006), 7).

God is a safe place in life’s storms.

My daughter and I were arranging to attend an extended family gathering. Because she was nervous about the trip, I offered to drive. “Okay. But I feel safer in my car. Can you drive it?” she asked. I assumed she preferred her more spacious vehicle to my compact one so I responded, “Is my car too cramped?” “No, it’s just that my car is my safe place. Somehow I feel protected there.”

Her comment challenged me to consider my own personal “safe place.” Immediately I thought of Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” In Old Testament times, the walls and watchtower of a city provided warning of danger from without and shielding for its citizens within. The writer’s point is that God’s name, which stands for His character, person, and everything that He is, provides true protection for His people.

Certain physical places promise longed-for safety in moments that seem dangerous. A sturdy roof overhead in the midst of a storm. A hospital offering medical care. The embrace of a loved one.
What is your “safe place”? Wherever we seek safety, it is God’s presence with us in that place that provides the strength and protection we really need. —Elisa Morg

Dear God, thank You that no matter what worries and concerns we have today, when we think about You, we find safety in Your presence.

Meditation Message

OUR QUEST TO UNDERSTAND God’s greatness can consume us to the point that we forget God’s nearness. We ask the wise ones in our midst, “Where is God?” When they answer, “God is present in the ordinary events of our everyday lives,” we are tempted to swim away disappointed.
“But this is just me and my humdrum life,” we respond, perplexed. “I am seeking something much greater than this!” We turn away and search elsewhere for that which is before our very eyes — that is, if only we had the eyes to see. God’s loving presence is the sacred water in which we swim.
Without the eyes to see, we continue searching for a spectacular moment of divine revelation. We busy ourselves looking for God on the mountaintop, and we fail to see God right beside us — at work, in traffic, at the grocery store, in the school pickup line, or at our own kitchen table. We long for the indisputable affirmation of God’s presence in a “burning bush” moment. We want the heavens to open, the angels to sing, and God’s voice to offer comfort, clarity, and wisdom. We forget that the ordinary stuff of daily life is extraordinarily sacred. God is in all things — if only we would open our eyes to see.

The Spirit of Holy Love

http://biblehub.com/galatians/5-22.htm

Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Gentleness is a character trait that is of great value in God's sight. We read about this in 1 Peter 3:4 when Peter writes... but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious. (WEB)

In one of the few places in the New Testament where Jesus describes Himself, He refers to Himself as being gentle... Matthew 11:29 - Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. (WEB) Gentleness is also listed as being part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23.

King David declared to God the following words in 2 Samuel 22:36... You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great. (WEB) I am so glad that God deals with us in His gentleness. If He treated us like we deserved, we would definitely be in trouble... But He doesn't.

I believe that 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 describes the gentleness of the Lord and how He treats us when Paul writes... 4 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, 5 doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 6 doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (WEB)

My prayer today is that we would radiate the same gentleness to those around us, that God shows to us. May we be known as a gentle people who are patient and kind and tender-hearted so we will be just like our big brother!

Food for Thought

EVERY TIME YOU BREATHE you express the name of God. [“I Am,” which is written with four Hebrew consonants, AHYH. When you pronounce the name God gave to Moses, you make the sound of breathing, You draw in a breath, EH, and you exhale YH, which sounds like yuh.]
The first sound a newborn makes is the name of God. The obstetrician listens for it. It comes first as a cry. Everyone thrills with the first sign that the baby can breathe. The last sound a dying person makes before leaving this earth is the name of God.
I find it profoundly meaningful that every mammal on earth begins and ends life pronouncing the name of God. It does not matter what theology I hold, I automatically, many times every day, say the name of God. Even if I am unconscious, I am constantly giving expression to the name of my Creator. There is never really any doubt about whose I am. I am because I belong to I AM. My existence is a gift from the One who is the source of all.

Serenity

MANY DEMANDS UPON OUR TIME and many opportunities waiting to be explored often fill our lives too full with activities and distractions. When this happens it is not surprising that we grow anxious and lose our sense of peace and tranquility.
Today remember that God and God alone is able to care for all that exists; we can trust our smallest and largest concern to the wisdom and love of God. Peace, hope, calm, and joy are the fruits of placing our confidence in God. May these gifts be yours in abundance.

Reflections

I REMEMBER A TIME of horrible confusion when I did not know whom or what I could trust. In a moment of despair, I confided in my mother that I no longer knew what the truth was. She replied without skipping a breath, “The only truth there is, is God’s love.”
An illuminative experience opens us to God’s truth. We know in those few minutes of transcending grace more than we knew only moments before. More than just head knowledge, it is knowing with the heart and with every cell of the body. We never forget this kind of knowledge because the memory attaches into our DNA. With the power of a religious conversion, an illuminative experience changes the way we perceive life. Nothing will ever be the same; nor do we want it to be.

Reflections

GOD CALLS TO OUR SOULS in ways that words cannot — through a moving song, a dramatic dance, the smile of a friend, or the kiss of the sun. From the vivid shades of autumn to the intricacy of a spider’s web, God made the earth and everything in it.
We, too, are expressions of God’s creative beauty and attention to detail. Our spirit flows out of God, who created us and gave us life. God’s fingerprints are all over us, and each of us is imprinted with the likeness of our Creator. No matter what life brings, God’s love will continue to create and to color our lives and our world.

O GIVER OF LIFE, neither wealth nor status can rescue us. We cannot affect the outcome of our lives. We can only rest in you, who blesses us so that we might bless others. Give us a heart that longs not for wealth but for you and your upside-down kingdom alone. Amen.

A True Tale

This week, I had to return to see the surgeon who operated on my hip: he placed a screw in it.

I
I waited for my wheelchair transport to take me back home, as I am still in recovery.

A woman came out to also wait her ride: she looked at me and said I looked familiar: I am, I told her, and moved closer to her.  She was thrilled to see me, we had not seen each other in years.

She had lost her left leg...

Left me humbled, please keep her in prayers, her husband recently died; she is a 2 time widow..

1 Corinthians 6

Scripture tells us that a believer has a dual citizenship -- one on earth and the other in heaven. In Philippians 3:20, Paul wrote: "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." Yet, we also know that when pressed by the Pharisees on the subject of taxation and the enforcement authority of the Roman government, Jesus instructed (Matthew 22:21b): "Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." In Chapter Six, Paul will discuss how to balance these responsibilities.

It is important to understand that the believer's citizenship in heaven does not absolve us of our responsibility to the state. The Christian has accountability to both. Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 2:2: "...for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." Therefore, the believer's obligation to the state is to make every effort and contribution toward a peaceful, law-abiding society -- including recognition of governmental authority. But why is it important? So we might get out the Gospel message (1 Timothy 2:3-4): "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." The subtlety of Paul's point is that even in the most tyrannical governments, there is some degree of freedom to preach the Word.

As we can see, God intended the church and the state to be kept separate. The church was not to dictate nor dominate the state -- and vice versa -- the state was not to control the church nor take the place of God. Unfortunately, many of the political forces in our country think they either speak for God or stand in replacement of Him.

Questions to Ponder:

Are you having difficulty balancing your responsibility to the government with the authority of God? Paul will begin Chapter Six by looking at the legal system and how believers should interact with each other. Whose law applies? God's or the secular system?https://www.ptl.org/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=DVO&utm_cam
